Carpet tile finishes often consist of a sturdy modified bitumen backing. It is literally and figuratively the backbone of the carpet. The backing reinforces the carpet tiles and ensures they retain their shape.

Greenbase is a less harmful alternative to the classic bitumen backing. The chalk used in this more sustainable variant of modified bitumen is made from 70% recycled material. This makes it less harmful to the planet.
